OUR SERVICES
Choosing how and where you bring your baby into the world is one of the most personal decisions you’ll ever make.
I’m here to make sure you have the exact support you need to have the home birth you’ve envisioned. Whether you are planning a water birth or navigating the path of a VBAC, I am a firm believer in body autonomy, the physiological birth process, and holding space. To support this, I continually bridge the gap between clinical safety and holistic tradition, helping you prepare mentally, physically, and emotionally. When the day comes, I want you to feel safe, deeply respected, and completely ready to welcome your baby on your own terms

Prenatal Care
Our prenatal care follows a structured schedule to support you throughout your pregnancy: initial intake at 10-12 weeks, monthly visits until 28 weeks, bi-weekly visits until 36 weeks, and weekly appointments until birth. Initial visits typically last 60-90 minutes and include a complete health history review, physical examination, and initial lab work. Regular follow-up visits are 30-60 minutes, allowing ample time for clinical vitals, education, and informed decision-making.
Labor & Birth
During active labor, we remain by your side, offering encouragement and comfort measures while monitoring vital signs and your baby’s heart rate. Our care incorporates movement, aqua therapy, and herbal or homeopathic remedies to help manage labor intensity. A minimum of one LM/CPM and a trained birth assistant will be present, supporting your choice to birth in the position that feels most comfortable to you—upright, in water, or on land.

Full comprehensive lab testing, cultures, and genetic screenings are offered throughout your pregnancy. This includes initial OB profiles, gestational diabetes screening at 28 weeks, and Group B Strep swabs at 37 weeks. Sonograms are scheduled as needed; however, an anatomy scan at 20 weeks is typically the only requirement.
Standard Labs
In the hours following birth, we provide holistic care focused on bonding, skin-to-skin contact, and breastfeeding support. We remain with you for 2-4 hours to monitor your well-being and can provide suturing for minor lacerations if needed. Our support continues through the first six weeks with visits at 24-48 hours, day 5 or 6, and at the 2-week and 6-week milestones, focusing on maternal healing and emotional well-being.
Postpartum Care
Maddox Midwifery offers free phone consultations to prospective clients to discuss your needs and answer any initial questions. During this conversation, we will outline our midwifery services and discuss your estimated due date. Should you decide our care is a good fit, we will schedule your first prenatal appointment and you will gain access to a private client portal to begin your health history.
Consultation

We provide comprehensive newborn care, including a complete physical examination of all body systems immediately following birth. Throughout your postpartum period, we conduct breastfeeding assessments, newborn screenings (heel stick), pulse oximetry, and weight checks. We also handle the filing of the birth certificate and provide a keepsake footprint.
